Mutina was born in 2006 with a great dream: to revolutionize the concept and use of ceramics and make it become a raw material to create art, scenography, innovative and modern architecture.

The path of Mutina begins in 2006, from the idea of ​​a small team of artists with a common passion for design, art, beauty, and grandiosity.  The creativity of their brilliant minds has led them to look at ceramic tiles with a new eye, from a totally different and amazing perspective.

The floor seen as a painting to be composed, using simple but always different combinations, to create unique and inimitable suggestions and atmospheres, never seen bifore. Mutina's work revolves around a single material and only three colors: ceramic and white, black and neutral.The challenge consists in this: transforming matter giving it endless new faces and personalities and playing with the most difficult to manage color scale, that of neutrals.

Mutina creations are the result of combinations, pairings, imperceptibly different choices, each time able to produce effects and aesthetic and emotional impacts that are always different and contrasting, equal and opposite, opposite and compatible. An ambitious dream to which the company has been able to give shape and consistency and was crowned in 2018 with the presence at the Design Week, the most important event dedicated to interior design and to all the creatives that make the sector alive, in continuous growth and ascent. An important milestone, which marks a victory and decrees the success of the project. A point not of arrival but of revival, to start immediately to work on new designs, creations and modern innovations in the field of ceramic tiles and interior wall tiles.

The great designers of Mutina, among which stand out important names like that of Patricia Urquiola, Hella Jongerius, Konstantin Grcic, Silvia Giacobazzi and many others, are daily working to create new, refined, high-design tiles capable of giving personality to character to any environment in which they are contextualised. It is played on the treatment of ceramics, precious and versatile raw material, able to show a thousand faces depending on how it is treated and on the infinite shades of color of neutral shades. Each Mutina tile is a work of art in its own right, designed down to the smallest detail from the material to the last finishing touches of the design, from the shape to the combination of the chromatic shades. The result is majestic porcelain stoneware floors, classic or modern patterns, those in large slabs that become huge canvases of abstract or geometric paintings and the walls in mosaic tiles, which look like works of other times, precious and fascinating.
